Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Tempe, AZ seeks a Commercial Installer to install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems on site for commercial clients. You will dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required, following wiring diagrams and safety practices to ensure reliable service.

You will coordinate with customers and authorities, prepare estimates, and mentor junior installers as part of a team. A high school diploma and 2+ years in electrical/electronic work are expected.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 2+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment as required by customer.
• Works safely to avoid injuries and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates per supervisor's instructions.
• Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of the system and connects to the signal center.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles notification records.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.
