Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed and coordinating with police/fire departments.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years of electrical/electronic experience, blueprint reading, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some technical training is a plus.
• 4+ years of electrical/electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and a fleet vehicle safely.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment per customer needs.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and clean up debris.
• Coordinate with customers before scheduled installations.
• Prepare estimates following supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures; test system operation.
• Read building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinate installations with authorities and handle emergency notifications.
• May supervise installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
