Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers to install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed, reading blueprints, coordinating with authorities, and mentoring junior installers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years in electrical/electronic equipment, and proven customer service abilities.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED.
Technical school training is a plus.
4+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate fleet vehicle safely.
Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install devices; dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers before scheduled installation to verify timing.
Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
Follow wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
Test system operation and report to the signal-receiving center.
Read building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and notify accordingly.
May manage installation teams on larger projects.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
