Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role requires reading blueprints, following wiring diagrams, and safely ensuring system operation.

The position may involve coordinating with emergency services, leading installation teams on large projects, and mentoring junior installers. A strong security background and practical hands-on skills are essential.

Qualifications

5+ years of security experience in an industrial environment.
Gentec experience.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Install devices; dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
Work safely to avoid injuries and damage, and clean up installation debris.
Contact customers prior to scheduled installation to verify schedule.
Prepare estimates per supervisor directions.
Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
Test system operation and report to signal-receiving center.
Read building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle emergency notification records.
May manage installation teams on larger projects.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
