Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial customers to set up and program integrated security systems. The role requires reading blueprints, wiring, and coordinating with emergency services while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
High school diploma or GED; technical school training is a plus.

Responsibilities

Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customer.
Install safely, avoid injuries and clean up debris.
Contact customers before installation to verify schedule.
Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
Test system operation and report to the signal center.
Read building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as required.
Coordinate with police/fire departments and handle emergency notification records.
May manage installation teams on larger projects.
Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
