Job summary

O'Hara's Son Roofing is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Chicago team, focusing on accurate cost estimation for commercial roofing projects including new construction, re-roof, and service work.

You'll interpret plans, perform quantity take-offs, and develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software, collaborating with management and suppliers to ensure competitive bids and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in estimating commercial roofing projects; Re-Roof and Service work; New Construction >150,000 sq ft a plus.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand requirements.
• Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources.
• Utilize estimating software, databases, and historical data to develop estimates.
• Collaborate with project management and suppliers to gather pricing and validate costs.
• Analyze project risks and contingencies in the estimation process.
