This is an opportunity for a seasoned commercial banker with deep Austin or Lakeway market relationships, strong C&I lending experience, and a meaningful book of loan and deposit relationships. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, and privately held companies who can grow commercial relationships, structure quality credit, and represent the bank with credibility in the local business community.

Our client is a growing regional banking platform with deep community roots, steady market expansion, and a relationship first approach to commercial banking. This is a strong opportunity for a banker who values client trust, strong internal partnership, local market credibility, and the ability to grow a meaningful commercial portfolio with support from treasury, capital markets, wealth, retail, credit, and market leadership.

Why this opportunity?
  • Austin market opportunity
Austin and the surrounding Lakeway market continue to attract business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, growth companies, and privately held businesses that need a relationship driven commercial banking partner.
  • Strong commercial banking platform
This opportunity offers the resources of a growing regional bank while maintaining a community focused, relationship based approach to client service.
  • Ideal for a proven producer
This role is designed for a banker with a strong current portfolio, market credibility, and the ability to generate new loan, deposit, treasury, and full relationship opportunities.
  • Collaborative internal support
You will work closely with treasury management, capital markets, wealth, retail, credit, and other internal partners to deliver complete financial solutions.
  • Leadership visibility
Prior market leadership experience in Austin or Lakeway is strongly preferred, making this a compelling opportunity for a banker who has already earned trust in the market and wants to keep building with a respected banking platform.
What you will do
  • Develop and execute a business development plan to grow a commercial loan and deposit portfolio in the Austin metro market.
  • Build consultative relationships with prospects and clients by delivering thoughtful banking solutions.
  • Source new commercial relationships through direct calling, COI relationships, referrals, community presence, and market intelligence.
  • Manage the flow of loan and deposit requests through the appropriate internal channels.
  • Structure, price, and recommend commercial credit solutions that align with client needs and bank objectives.
  • Underwrite loan requests within bank policy and submit accurate, complete loan packages to credit partners.
  • Manage and service an assigned commercial loan portfolio.
  • Partner with credit to properly risk grade loans and update risk grades as client circumstances change.
  • Collaborate with treasury management, capital markets, wealth, retail, and other internal teams to deepen client relationships.
  • Grow deposit relationships and identify treasury management opportunities.
  • Resolve client issues and provide superior service to existing commercial clients.
  • Maintain complete loan and deposit documentation and clear any documentation or compliance deficiencies.
  • Stay current on federal and state lending regulations, fair lending practices, and bank policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with COIs and community leaders to enhance the bank's image and reputation in the Austin market.
What we are looking for
  • 10 plus years of commercial lending, commercial banking, or relationship management experience.
  • Current portfolio of approximately $50MM to $75MM in loan relationships, with an emphasis on C&I lending.
  • Current deposit relationships of approximately $50MM or greater preferred.
  • Strong experience with loan structuring, credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management.
  • Experience calling on privately held companies, business owners, operating companies, and commercial clients.
  • Prior market leadership experience in Austin, Lakeway, or the surrounding Central Texas market strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending regulations, bank policies, loan documentation, and credit procedures.
  • Ability to develop new business without relying only on an inherited portfolio.
  • Well developed sales, interpersonal, negotiating, and advisory skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and sound judgment in evaluating creditworthiness.
  • Ability to prioritize complex work assignments and manage multiple client needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard pipeline management practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or a related field required.
  • Graduation from a recognized school of banking is a plus.
Ideal candidate profile

This role is ideal for a senior commercial banker in Austin or Lakeway who has already built a strong market reputation and manages a meaningful loan and deposit portfolio.

The strongest fit is someone with deep C&I experience, strong credit discipline, an established COI network, and the ability to lead client conversations with confidence. This person should be comfortable building relationships from the ground up, managing complex credit needs, and working closely with internal partners to deliver a full banking relationship.
