Job summary

SouthState Bank seeks a Loan Assistant II to direct the timely processing and fulfillment of Commercial loans, supporting deal teams with simple to semi-complex loans and client relationships. You will ensure accuracy and uniformity of loan documents to minimize loss and assist with issue investigations and resolution.

This role requires solid knowledge of loan products and procedures, with prior experience in loan processing and customer service within the commercial lending sector.

Qualifications

• Education: a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree or additional course work in banking, finance or lending is an asset.
• 3-4 years of experience in commercial lending is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking and management of the loan pipeline, loan maturities, the uninsured reports, and past dues reports, ensuring timely processing and adherence to deadlines.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet processing goals and customer expectations.
• Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants to cover PTO requests and absences.
• Remain knowledgeable of all State and Federal lending and documentation regulations as well as Bank policies and guidelines ensuring compliance.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, insurance agents and clients.
• Initiate the disbursement of closing funds and issues loan proceeds via checks and/or wires.
• Review closed and funded loans for document completion, ensure that loans are booked timely and accurately.
