Job summary

SouthState Bank in Dallas is seeking a Loan Assistant II to direct the timely processing and fulfillment of Commercial loans. You will manage simple to semi-complex loans, ensure accuracy of loan documents, and support deal teams with client relationships.

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or additional coursework in banking, finance or lending is an asset.
• 3-4 years of experience in commercial lending documentation.
• 3-4 years of Loan Assistant I or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking and management of the loan pipeline, maturities, uninsured reports, and past dues reports, ensuring timely processing.
• Prioritize tasks to meet processing goals and customer expectations.
• Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants to cover PTO requests and absences.
• Collect and organize all necessary documentation from borrowers (income verification, credit reports, ID).
• Input data into loan processing systems accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, and clients.
• Initiate disbursement of closing funds and issue loan proceeds via checks/wires.
• Review closed and funded loans for document completion and timely booking.
