Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking an entry-level Loan Assistant I to support the commercial loan life cycle. You will collect borrower documents, input data, and help prepare loan files for closings and funding while maintaining strong client relationships.

This role offers growth opportunities in commercial lending. You will serve as a point of contact for clients and collaborate with the deal team to ensure timely processing, compliance with regulations, and accurate documentation throughout the loan

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree or related coursework in banking, finance or lending is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage loan pipeline, maturities, uninsured reports and past dues.
• Collect and organize borrower documents (income verification, credit reports, ID).
• Input data into loan processing systems accurately.
• Provide back-up support for PTOs and absences.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, insurers and clients.
• Initiate disbursement of closing funds and loan proceeds.
