Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. is seeking an entry-level Loan Assistant I to support the processing and fulfillment of commercial loans. You will manage borrower documentation, input data into processing systems, and assist with closings and post-closing tasks.

The role offers exposure to loan operations, regulatory compliance, and client service throughout the loan lifecycle, with opportunities for growth within the Commercial Banking team.

Qualifications

• Education: a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree or additional coursework in banking, finance or lending is an asset.
• Experience: a minimum of one (1) year of experience in commercial lending documentation is preferred.
• Experience: a minimum of one (1) year of Commercial Banking support experience or client service within a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking and management of the loan pipeline and maturities, ensuring timely processing and adherence to deadlines.
• Collect and organize borrower documentation and input data into loan processing systems.
• Coordinate closings with lenders, attorneys, and clients and initiate disbursement of closing funds.
• Maintain communications with lenders and clients throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Provide back-up support to other Loan Assistants and ensure compliance with regulations.
