Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a senior leader to define and execute the commercial learning and capability strategy for the US Biopharmaceutical portfolio. You will shape how customer-facing teams apply strategy, science, and data to drive compliant, high-impact conversations.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, enhancing field readiness for launches, and embedding CRM, analytics, and AI in everyday customer engagement to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced life sciences or business education valued.
• Significant pharmaceutical commercial and field experience – 10+ years in sales leadership or equivalent accountability.
• Demonstrated competitive-selling leadership with strong discipline in differentiation and field execution.
• Proven ability to translate strategy, science, and customer insight into measurable commercial impact.
• Strong US healthcare-system knowledge including payer dynamics, reimbursement, and access navigation.
• Scientific/clinical credibility to translate evidence into compliant customer engagement.
• Experience coaching first-line managers and reinforcing behaviors at scale.
• Fluent digital/data/AI integration into practical field workflows and performance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Define and own a multi-year commercial capability strategy linked to US priorities.
• Set integrated capability model for representatives spanning scientific, clinical, and business acumen.
• Develop differentiated, compliant competitive selling approaches.
• Prepare representatives to integrate account insight and access realities; engage specialist teams as needed.
• Embed CRM, analytics, and AI into customer preparation and engagement processes.
• Lead capability development and certification across launches and portfolio priorities.
• Coach first-line managers and establish a reinforcement, governance, and measurement system.
