Comparion Insurance Agency in Newark, NJ seeks a Commercial Insurance Specialist to help small businesses find the right coverage through consultative sales and tailored solutions. You’ll prospect opportunities, build client and referral relationships, and work with multiple carriers to deliver quality coverage and service.

The role combines new-business production with advisory selling, quoting and coordinating policy placement and renewals, requiring strong communication and collaboration

Qualifications

• Familiarity with small commercial lines (BOP, GL, property, auto, WC, cyber, umbrella, bonds).
• Experience networking and driving top-of-funnel leads from multiple sources.
• Experience using agency management systems and comparative raters.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and relationship-building.
• Property & Casualty license or progress toward them; needed upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new small commercial accounts (revenues under $10M) via prospecting, referrals, networking and inbound leads.
• Counsel prospects and policyholders on protection and coverage needs; recommend insurance solutions.
• Prepare and present quotes by obtaining/comparing quotes from multiple carriers using systems.
• Meet goals for new business volume and cross-sell opportunities within guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal partners to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.
• Build relationships with referral agents to generate COI/lead streams; handle endorsements, cancellations, audits, and claims liaison as needed.
