Modigent is seeking a Service Retrofit Refrigerant Technician II to perform refrigerant piping retrofit, diagnostics, and maintenance across commercial settings. Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands-on HVAC/refrigerant service experience.
• EPA Section 608 certification (Type II or Universal) required; other credentials a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school preferred.
• Strong safety and OSHA awareness with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, leak checks, and minor repairs on refrigerant piping and related HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose and repair common refrigerant issues, including leaks and low charge, with guidance on more complex cases.
• Handle refrigerant recovery, recycling, recharging, and EPA-compliant handling for retrofits and repairs.
• Conduct system performance checks, basic pressure testing, evacuation, and adjustments to optimize efficiency and compliance.
• Lead standard retrofit/service calls: assess problems on-site, communicate with customers about issues/solutions/timelines, coordinate parts/materials, execute work, and follow up for satisfaction.
• Document all work accurately (work orders, service reports, photos, recommendations) and maintain records for billing and warranty.
• Assist senior technicians on advanced retrofits and mentoring Level I technicians; promote safety practices.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and wear PPE; adhere to EPA regulations and company standards.
