Job summary

Modigent is seeking a Service Retrofit Refrigerant Technician II to advance on commercial HVAC retrofit and refrigerant piping projects. You’ll work with increasing independence on site in office buildings and industrial facilities, performing preventive maintenance, refrigerant recovery, and basic testing while guiding junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• EPA 608 certification (Type II or Universal) is required or obtainable.
• Experience: 2–5 years in commercial HVAC/refrigerant service and retrofit.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform preventive maintenance, inspections, leak checks, and minor repairs on refrigerant piping and HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose and repair refrigerant issues including leaks and low charge with guidance on complex cases.
• Lead standard retrofit/service calls: assess on-site issues, coordinate parts, perform work, and follow up for satisfaction.
• Document all work for billing, warranty, and quality records.
