Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel seeks an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, and repair of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. You will diagnose equipment, read schematics, and respond to service calls with safety and efficiency in mind.

Qualifications

• Experience required in HVAC/R mechanic work, including installation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning equipment.
• Ability to diagnose, maintain, adjust, repair, and replace HVAC systems and components.
• Possess prior computer experience and be able and willing to learn and effectively utilize computer-based technology.
• Possess the competencies, willingness, and ability to perform the duties of position.
• Proficient in electrical safety procedures.
• Proficient in risk assessment and determination of PPE appropriate to specific tasking.
• Competent analyzing situations and making technical and safety decisions based on specifications and applicable codes and manufacturer guidelines.
• Solid decision-making ability and sound judgment to safely and effectively solve problems.
• Good organizational, communication and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
• Installation and startup of HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems.
• Communicate with customers regarding tasks and issues.
• Advise HVAC Service Manager of progress and material/labor needs.
• Order replacement parts.
• Work with electrical components from disconnect through equipment.
• Submit reports as required.
• Respond to emergency service calls.
• Document hours, tasks, materials, processes.
• Follow SOPs and create/revise SOPs as needed.
• Work outdoors in challenging conditions.
• Identify unsafe conditions and communicate.
• Participate in Work Center Safety Program.
• Perform other duties as required.
