Crystal Heating and Cooling in the Greater St. Louis area is expanding its commercial team by hiring a Commercial HVAC Takeoff and Estimating Specialist. You will analyze drawings, perform takeoffs, and develop complete estimates to guide project pursuits and pricing.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable with numbers, and experienced in commercial HVAC construction. This in-office daily role includes occasional local site visits and a path toward professional growth within the

Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC estimating, mechanical construction, or comparable industry experience.
• Ability to read mechanical plans and construction specifications.
• Ability to perform accurate material and equipment takeoffs.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple bids with competing deadlines.
• Comfortable using computers and learning estimating platforms.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
• Ability to work in-office daily.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mechanical drawings, construction documents, and project specifications.
• Perform detailed HVAC equipment and material takeoffs.
• Determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
• Develop complete commercial HVAC estimates.
• Request pricing from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Compare quotes and identify pricing discrepancies.
• Monitor addenda and adjust estimates when project requirements change.
• Identify scope gaps and potential bid risks.
• Assemble accurate and competitive bid packages.
• Organize estimating files and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with sales and project management throughout the bidding process.
• Assist with turnover when awarded projects move into production.
