Job summary

Sun Glow Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical in Portland, OR is seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator to review plans, perform takeoffs, and prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial projects.

You will build budgets, develop bid packages, and coordinate with management and field teams to secure profitable bids, with a base salary plus commission and a clear path for growth within the expanding division.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, specs and bid documents.
• Experience preparing competitive commercial bid proposals and project budgets.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Base Salary + Commission | $150,000–$250,000 yearly

Full-Time | Portland, OR Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Join Sun Glow Inc.'s growing commercial division as a Commercial HVAC Estimator, using your industry knowledge to review plans, perform takeoffs, prepare accurate and competitive estimates, and help secure profitable commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial HVAC projects
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform material, equipment, and labor takeoffs
• Develop project budgets, proposals, and bid packages
• Build and maintain estimating worksheets and cost breakdowns in Microsoft Excel
• Communicate with contractors, customers, vendors, and internal teams
• Coordinate with project management and field teams on awarded projects

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC estimating experience
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, materials, and installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Experience preparing competitive commercial bid proposals and project budgets
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple estimates, priorities, and bid deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
