Job summary

Universal Energy Solutions is seeking a full-time Client Retention Representative to join our Schaumburg team. You will work with local business owners to review energy plans, propose options, and grow a book of business through renewals and new opportunities.

You’ll receive paid training and ongoing coaching while building lasting relationships with commercial clients across the Greater Chicago area. Commission-based earnings and growth into leadership roles are available as you perform well.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related sales experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal vehicle.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable meeting with business owners face‑to‑face.
• Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or another customer‑facing role.
• Self‑motivated with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Prior knowledge and experience in the deregulated energy field.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with existing commercial customers.
• Meet face-to-face with local business owners and decision-makers.
• Review current electricity and natural gas supply plans.
• Help businesses identify opportunities to reduce their energy costs.
• Recommend energy supplier options based on each customer’s needs.
• Support customers through future renewals and ongoing energy needs.
• Develop new business opportunities between customer appointments.
• Build and grow your own portfolio of commercial accounts.
• Travel throughout an assigned territory (typically within a 30‑mile radius of the office).
