Job summary

Canto is hiring its first in‑house Commercial Counsel to build and scale a modern legal function for a scaling SaaS company. You will own end‑to‑end commercial contracting operations, negotiate MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, and partner with Sales, Finance and the executive team.

Based remotely in the US (EST/CST preferred), you will implement systems, playbooks, and AI‑enabled workflows to accelerate deals while protecting the business from risk.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology (in-house or mix).
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
• Ability to build processes and legal infrastructure in a scaling SaaS environment.

Responsibilities

• Own negotiation and execution of commercial SaaS agreements—MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Lead end-to-end contracting operations with scalable, AI-enabled workflows.
• Manage vendor contracts, privacy, and governance across the business.
• Advise Sales, Finance, and executive leadership on legal risk and policy.
