Canto is seeking a Commercial Counsel to lead in‑house legal function for commercial contracting at a fast‑growing SaaS company. You will drive negotiation of SaaS agreements, manage CLM processes, and scale AI‑enabled workflows across Sales, Finance, and leadership.

The role emphasizes strategic partnering, privacy compliance, and building a modern legal function to support rapid growth in US and EU markets.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar membership.
• 5–8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology, in‑house or mix of law firm and in‑house.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscription, DPAs, NDAs).
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and related privacy laws.
• Ability to build processes and legal infrastructure in scaling environments.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and execute commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, subscriptions, DPAs, NDAs).
• Protect company positions on terms and accelerate deal velocity.
• Train Sales to handle routine negotiations independently.
