Job summary

Under supervision, you will exercise judgement to determine liability, reserve needs, and settlements within authority, collaborating with experts and internal teams to achieve quality outcomes and compliant service.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Prior claim handling, or business experience in the insurance industry and/or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of low to moderate complexity commercial claims by following company protocols to verify policy coverage, gather necessary information, maintain documentation and authorize disbursements within authority limit.
• Interact professionally with insureds, claimants and business partners, providing timely updates and responding to inquiries for information.
• Verify coverage and establish reserves by reviewing policy language and estimating claim valuation.
• Investigate to determine liability and gather pertinent information with experts where needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources to facilitate best claim outcomes.
• Authorize disbursements within authority, negotiate settlements and escalate to manager when appropriate.
• Identify subrogation/salvage opportunities or potential fraud, and refer for further investigation.
• Aim for high-quality files by following guidelines, meeting cycle targets, and documenting actions.
