Job summary

Polinger Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Building Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, safety, and occupant services for a commercial property in Chevy Chase, MD. The role requires coordinating a maintenance team and ensuring regulatory compliance, tenant satisfaction, and efficient building performance.

You will manage budgets, vendor contracts, and safety programs while pursuing energy efficiency and sustainable improvements, with a focus on reliable service delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years as a commercial building manager or similar role.
• Experience in tenant relations.
• Experience with building renovations/repairs.
• Experience with CMMS and computerized work order systems.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.
• Familiarity with local codes and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the building.
• Manage tenant relations and respond to inquiries.
• Coordinate vendor and contractor activities and bids.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control.
• Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Lead maintenance staff with training and feedback.
• Identify energy efficiency and sustainability opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, inspections, and communications.
