Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Project Manager I for Dallas, TX and surrounding areas. The role focuses on client communication, technical leadership, and managing CoMET services with a local team.

Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, safety leadership, and coordinating with accounting, legal, and other departments to expand the client base on multiple high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering, Science, Architecture, or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or related engineering services.
• A minimum of 3-4 years of project-related experience with direct client interaction and project leadership.
• A minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory role overseeing field engineers or technicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of special inspections and materials testing for projects of various sizes.
• Review plans and specs to develop estimates, define scope, timelines and budgets.
• Champion safety by leading team safety efforts and writing project safety plans.
• Mentor staff and assign responsibilities in field and office.
• Develop detailed project plans to ensure task achievement and deliverables.
• Engage in marketing and client outreach to secure new business.
• Coordinate with Accounting on invoicing, collections and change orders; work with Legal on contracts.
