Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Project Manager I to lead our Dallas-area CoMET team. You will manage client interactions, plan and execute technical work, mentor staff, and monitor budgets while expanding partnerships with diverse clients.

The role requires a background in construction materials testing or related engineering services, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in engineering, science, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 6–7 years in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or related engineering services.
• 3–4 years of project-level responsibility including client interaction.
• 1–2 years in a supervisory role overseeing field staff or technicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of special inspections and materials testing for construction projects.
• Review plans to develop estimates, define scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Lead safety initiatives; write job-specific safety plans; promote pre-task planning.
• Mentor and develop staff in both field and office settings.
• Develop detailed project plans for execution of tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
• Engage in marketing and client outreach to secure new work.
• Coordinate with Accounting on invoicing, collections, and change orders.
• Coordinate with Legal on contract review and risk management.
