Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Project Manager II to lead Tulsa, OK and surrounding-area projects. The role emphasizes client communication, mentoring a local CoMET team, and controlling budgets and schedules.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree, Oklahoma PE, 7–8 years in materials testing or construction management, plus 4–5 years of PM experience and 1–2 years supervising staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and Oklahoma PE license.
• 7-8 years of experience in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or related engineering services.
• 4-5 years of project management experience with direct client interaction.
• 1-2 years in a supervisory position overseeing field engineers or materials testing technicians.
• Ability to work independently and in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of special inspections and materials testing for construction projects.
• Review project plans and specifications to develop project estimates and proposals; define scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Champion safety culture by leading team safety efforts and writing project safety plans.
• Mentor and develop staff through training and assigning responsibilities.
• Develop and implement detailed project plans to ensure task execution and milestones.
• Engage in marketing and client outreach to secure new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with Accounting for invoicing, collections, and change orders; work with Legal on contracts.
