Northwestern Mutual is seeking a College Financial Representative internship by which you will learn to prospect, build a client base, and develop a personal financial planning practice while receiving guidance from industry experts and a Fortune 500 partner.

You’ll gain exposure to planning software, weekly coaching, and opportunities to interview for full-time roles after graduation. Flexible scheduling supports life and classes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student with juniors or seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with curiosity for sales.
• Active campus involvement (leadership, student gov, clubs).
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to develop critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prospect and network to build your business and client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Pursue insurance licensing (life, health, DI, LTC) and related registrations.
