FCC Environmental Services is seeking a Collections Specialist to join our centralized collections team, handling overdue accounts across markets including Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. You will reconcile accounts, address discrepancies, and negotiate repayment plans while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of accounting principles, experience with SAP or similar systems, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Understanding of accounting principles; ability to reconcile and manage accounts.
• Experience with SAP or similar accounting systems.
• Excel proficiency including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Strong listening and communication skills for diverse markets.
• Strong negotiation skills for repayments and settlements.
• Familiarity with debt collection laws (FDCPA).
• Ability to manage stress, solve problems, and think critically.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in collections or customer service in utilities preferred.

Responsabilités

• Serve as liaison between FCC Environmental Services and customers across markets, managing overdue accounts for residential, commercial, and municipal clients.
• Reconcile customer accounts, identify overdue payments, and address payment discrepancies.
• Track and report collection activities, providing updates on outstanding accounts and repayment progress.
• Address billing inquiries regarding status and account issues, offering solutions based on customer history.
• Develop and negotiate repayment plans or settlements based on customer needs and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of all communications, actions, and agreements with customers.
• Submit regular reports on unpaid accounts and provide updates on collection progress to management.
