Job summary

The role emphasizes empathy, clear communication, and collaboration with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, prepare ageing reports, and support the Credit Manager. A degree is preferred, with 1–3 years’ experience. This position is based in Orlando, FL, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar role
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, Sage software experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with existing clients while resolving payment issues
• Communicate clearly, persuasively, and professionally
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and overdue payments
• Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to collect payments
• Devise creative solutions to negotiate payment plans and settlements
• Make recommendations to place accounts on credit hold or present for escalation
• Remain calm and persistent with difficult or uncooperative debtors
• De-escalate tense situations and handle objections
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies
• Prepare ageing reports and assist the Credit manager with ad hoc collection reports
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
• This position serves as the Billing Specialist back-up for the Fuel Department

Position Summary

The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing outstanding accounts receivable, contacting clients to resolve overdue balances, and maintaining positive customer relationships while ensuring timely payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build rapport with existing clients while resolving payment issues while maintaining empathy and compassion.
• Communicate clearly, persuasively, and professionally always!
• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and overdue payments.
• Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to collect payments.
• Devise creative solutions to negotiate payment plans and settlements when necessary.
• Make recommendations to place accounts on credit hold or present for escalation.
• Remain calm and persistent with difficult or uncooperative debtors, following up consistently.
• De-escalate tense situations, handle push back and objections, work past gatekeepers to reach decision makers.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Prepare ageing reports and assist the Credit manager with ad hoc collection reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• This position serves as the Billing Specialist back-up for the Fuel Department.
