Job summary

Grainger seeks a Collection Customer Service Representative in Janesville, WI. The role starts with in-office training for 13 weeks, then a hybrid pattern of three days onsite and two days remote, with potential transition to fully remote after meeting goals.

Hours run 7am–6pm with quarterly travel to the Janesville site. The position reports to a Collection Supervisor and focuses on customer service and resolving delinquent accounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience solving customer issues in a service environment or inbound call center.
• Strong MS Office proficiency including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound phone inquiries and provide requested documentation.
• Demonstrate problem solving and curiosity when assisting customers and colleagues.
• Apply professional collection skills to identify reasons for delinquent status including outbound calls.
• Collaborate with Credit, Sales, and Branch teams to resolve collection issues.
• Maintain accurate customer notes per standard processes.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to resolve unreconciled checks.
• Partner with Sales to remove payment barriers.
• Provide Credit Managers with customer information to evaluate terms.
