Job summary

Jet HomeLoans is seeking a Collateral Manager to oversee receipt, imaging, storage, and tracking of closing packages and collateral documents. You will ensure compliance with collateral agreements and regulatory requirements while coordinating with Secondary Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Legal.

The role emphasizes risk mitigation, data accuracy, and timely reporting, including management of MERS registrations and eNote processes. Experience with hybrid closings is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field preferred, but not required.
• 3–5 years in Mortgage Lending with at least 2 years in a managerial role focusing on post-closing or collateral.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficient in Encompass and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and collateral management systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong understanding of mortgage legal documents (Mortgages, Notes, Riders, Allonges, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Shipping & Tracking: Oversee daily tracking, transfer and shipping of original and eNotes.
• Collateral Review & Quality Control: Review original notes and allonges for accuracy.
• Warehouse Bank: Serve as primary contact for investors and warehouse banks.
• MERS: Ensure funded loans are registered in MERS; knowledge of eNote process is a plus.
• Vault Management: Secure storage and transfer of paper and eNotes; reconcile documents.
• Communication: Resolve exceptions with external partners.
• Maintain knowledge of investor guidelines and regulations.
• Leadership & Management: Supervise and mentor collateral staff; ensure accurate reporting.
• Collateral Management: Oversee daily management and reconciliation across portfolios.
• Dispute Resolution: Resolve disputes with legal teams and external parties.
• Process Improvement: Streamline collateral processes for efficiency.
• Reporting: Prepare reports on collateral positions, valuations, and trends; set KPIs.
• Risk Mitigation: Manage risks with proper policies and controls.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Dodd-Frank, Basel III, and laws.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal/external parties to resolve discrepancies.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate collateral data.
• Other duties as required.
