Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten–Grade 2 under the direction of the lead teacher. You will help facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and contribute to a joyful, engaging classroom environment.

With a focus on collaboration, you will work closely with lead teachers to ensure every student receives necessary support to master skills and develop a love of learning,

Qualifications

• Education: 48 college hours or bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Knowledge and skills: early childhood development, instruction, behavior management, and adaptivity to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in educational development under teacher direction.
• Maintain student records with teachers.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under lead teacher guidance.
• Facilitate small-group instruction and intervention based on data and planning.
• Monitor learning, provide feedback, and support students.
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
• Implement a consistent behavior system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Foster a positive classroom culture and community among students.
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families.
• Participate in meetings and after-school activities as needed.
• Attend district and school learning opportunities throughout the year.
