Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking Early Childhood Co-Teachers to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten through Grade 2 under the direction of the lead teacher. Co-Teachers actively facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help cultivate joyful, engaging learning environments where all students can thrive and master skills.

You will collaborate closely with lead teachers to ensure every student receives the support needed to achieve

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher, ensuring all students can access grade-level learning
• Actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and teacher planning
• Monitor student learning and needs during instruction and provide feedback and support
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus-wide initiatives while developing students’ character
• Help shape a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment
• Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust and respect
• Host tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and after-school duties
• Engage in district, school and personal learning and development
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
