Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction for Prekindergarten to Grade 2 under the lead teacher. You will facilitate small-group learning and provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports to help every student master skills and develop a love of learning.

You will collaborate closely with lead teachers to ensure all students access grade-level content, with expectations of 40+ hours on-site weekly and opportunities for tutoring and

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience: 1+ year working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of classroom teachers
• Assist with maintaining student records
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher
• Facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and planning
• Monitor student learning and provide feedback and support
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives
• Help develop a positive school culture and community
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect
• Participate in tutoring sessions as needed
• Attend weekly meetings and after-school duties
• Engage in district and school professional development
• Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
• Additional responsibilities may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school
