Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking Mission-area Co-Teachers to support Prekindergarten-Grade 2 instruction and targeted interventions under the lead teacher. You will facilitate small groups, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help create engaging classrooms where all students thrive.

This grant-funded role emphasizes collaboration with lead teachers, data-driven instruction, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learner needs and manage classroom dynamics.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under guidance of classroom teachers.
• Support Tier 1 core instruction and small-group intervention based on data.
• Maintain student records and communicate progress weekly with families.
• Participate in meetings, tutoring sessions, and after-school activities as needed.
