Qualifications

• Two years of heavy citizen/customer service contact resolving complaints or conflicts.
• Experience with service or billing disputes is required.
• Must obtain Code Enforcement Officer Trainee certification issued by TDLR within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Inspects city properties, projects, buildings, and developments to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Identifies non-compliant concerns and addresses issues with relevant parties; documents violations.
• Investigates non-compliant problems and recommends corrective action; communicates with developers.
• Issues notices of violation, takes photos, gathers evidence, and responds to citizen complaints.
• Educates the public on laws and code standards; interprets regulations for accuracy.
• Maintains documents relating to inspections and enforcement activities.
• Keeps up to date on current code standards and attends professional development.
• Drives city vehicles to perform inspections and address compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
