Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer II to enforce municipal codes across multiple districts. You will conduct inspections, identify violations, issue citations, and work with property owners to resolve issues while maintaining thorough records.

This role requires a high school diploma, a minimum of three years in heavy customer service with enforcement experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and a Texas Code Enforcement Officer certification or ability to obtain it

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of experience in heavy customer service, including enforcement of codes and issuing citations.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Code Enforcement Officer certification issued by TDLR; or must obtain within probation.
• Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties to enforce city codes and standards.
• Investigate violations, issue citations, and coordinate enforcement actions.
• Educate owners and developers on code requirements.
• Prepare reports and provide testimony in court as needed.
• Operate city vehicle and maintain records.
