Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer II to investigate and enforce city codes, conduct inspections, and collaborate with property owners and other agencies. You will handle complex cases, issue citations, and prepare reports for legal proceedings.

This civil service position requires knowledge of municipal codes, valid Texas driver license, and certification by TDLR; availability for varied shifts; and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of experience in heavy customer service, incl. six months enforcing codes.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
• Code Enforcement Officer license issued by TDLR.
• If certified elsewhere, must obtain Texas TDLR certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed property inspections for code compliance.
• Investigate and address code violations and issue citations.
• Educate owners, developers, and operators on code requirements.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare reports for enforcement.
• Coordinate with other departments to address complex issues.
• Operate city vehicles to inspect across Dallas.
