Job summary

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of customer service experience, a valid driver's license, and will obtain the TDLR Officer Trainee certification during probation.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of heavy citizen/customer service experience handling complaints.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must obtain TDLR Code Enforcement Officer Trainee certification within probation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on city properties to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
• Identify non-compliant concerns and address issues with relevant parties.
• Investigate problems, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate with developers.
• Create notices of violation, collect evidence, and issue citations as needed.
• Educate the public on laws, regulations, and code standards.
• Draft and maintain inspection documents and records.
• Remain current with code standards and professional certifications.
• Travel across the city to perform inspections and address violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
