The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a SATS Counselor to deliver substance abuse treatment within an Alaska Department of Corrections setting, reporting to the SATS Coordinator. You will maintain a caseload, conduct SBIRT/ASAM assessments, and follow the approved curriculum.

This full-time, non-exempt position operates under a July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 contract with potential renewal. Alaska certification requirements include Counselor Technician and CDCI eligibility within one

Qualifications

• Alaska State Counselor Technician Certification required.
• Knowledge of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders and its treatment.
• Pass ADOC background check and PREA screening.
• Ability to obtain Alaska State CDCI Certification within one year.

Responsabilités

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments and orient new clients.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate referrals and reentry.
• Facilitate groups on chemical dependency and related issues.
• Monitor progress and document compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
