Job summary

Kennametal in Detroit seeks a results-driven Technical Sales Specialist for metal cutting tools. You will drive growth with new and existing customers, deliver technical direction, and build a strong sales pipeline across the metro Detroit region.

Collaborate with internal teams, conduct product demonstrations and webinars, respond to pre-sales inquiries, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience and tooling knowledge.
• Strong technical sales background preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and translate customer needs into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive metal cutting tool sales growth with new and established customers.
• Manage customer relationships and provide technical direction and support.
• Increase customer productivity through tooling and application solutions.
• Build territory presence and sales pipeline.
• Partner with internal teams on customer initiatives and technical needs.
• Work on CNC machining, milling, and lathe application challenges.
• Meet or exceed revenue targets.
• Provide metal cutting solutions based on market trends and customer objectives.
• Generate, qualify, and manage sales leads, prospects, and new customer accounts.
• Manage the complete sales process, including prospecting, qualification, meetings, demonstrations, pricing, negotiations, and sourcing.
• Develop and execute strategic territory plans focused on new product sales.
• Answer pre-sales technical and commercial queries.
• Maintain customer and project records in CRM.
• Conduct online and onsite product demonstrations, workshops, webinars, and territory events.
• Represent Kennametal at tradeshows and conferences.
• Analyze complex application needs and recommend tooling and testing to deliver cost savings.
• Prepare and present progress, status, and forecasting reports.
