Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a CNC Tooling Sales and Application Engineer to drive metal cutting tool sales growth with OEMs and Tier 1 manufacturers in the Detroit Metro area.

The role combines technical machining knowledge with sales skills and requires 3+ years in CNC machining and 1–2 years in technical sales. The position is based from a home office within the territory, with 80%+ time in the field at customer sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in CNC machining industry experience.
• 1-2 years in technical sales or applications preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed revenue targets by selling metal cutting solutions to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Generate, qualify, and manage sales leads and new customer accounts.
• Lead pre-sales activities including demos, pricing, and negotiations.
• Develop strategic territory plans to deliver revenue goals and new product sales.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a positive end-to-end customer experience.
• Represent Kennametal at events within the territory.
