Job summary

Component Repair Technologies in Mentor, OH is seeking a Shot Peen Technician to apply shot peen and related processes on turbine engine components within a climate-controlled, modern facility. You will participate in extensive in‑house training and grow your responsibilities as skills develop.

Priority is given to candidates with 2+ years in manufacturing, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with measuring tools. Strong reading of procedures and basic shop math are required.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions.
• Experience with basic measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Familiarity with shop math.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Set up and prepare computer (CNC) shot peen equipment by reading work instructions and selecting programmed cycles.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and reference internal and external documents.
• Control coverage areas to be shot peened.
• Monitor CNC program for proper execution.
• Evaluate surface areas after operation to verify coverage is complete and meets specs.
• Secure supplies, such as racks, tooling, and baskets, before starting.
• Perform routine inspection and minor maintenance on shot peen equipment.
• Clean, adjust and maintain equipment using hand tools.
• Utilize daily, overhead crane and lifting equipment.
• Accurately log all process and results in department logs.
