Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, seeks skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to setup, write and run NC programs on lathes and mills. Evening and weekend shifts available in Pasadena, Texas. Candidates should have at least 3 years of CNC programming and operating experience, capable of reading drawings and maintaining tight tolerances.

Experience on Mazak lathes and Mazak mills is preferred; Haas and DMG experience a plus. Must work safely and accurately in a precision machining environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical training with machinist knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years CNC programming and operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret machine drawings.
• Capable of precise calculations and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Set up, writes programs and operates CNC machines (lathe/mill).
• Maintain tolerances within .0003 inches.
• Follow work orders, prints and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret drawings; modify parameters per supervisor.
• Use micrometers, bore gauges and calipers to verify conformance.
• Maintain clean, safe and organized work area.
