Job summary

John Crane, a Smiths Group company, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator for evenings, weekend day and night shifts. Preference for Mazak lathe and Mazak mill experience; Haas and DMG experience is a plus.

Responsibilities include setting up, programming, operation, and maintaining tolerances on various CNC machines. Candidates should have a high school diploma with technical schooling and at least 3 years in CNC machining, capable of reading drawings and performing precise

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with a technical school education and working machinist knowledge.
Minimum 3 years of CNC machine tool programming and operating experience.
Numerical control machining skills and the ability to read and interpret machine drawings.
Able to perform average to complex mathematical calculations.
Must be able to operate a minimum of 2 CNC machine tools.

Responsibilities

Set up, write programs, edit existing programs, and operate CNC machinery (lathes, mills, drills).
Maintain tolerances within .0003”.
Follow procedures and work from routings, prints, and instructions.
Presets tools and re-sharpen as needed.
Inspect finished work with micrometers and calipers to verify specs.
