Job summary

Epiroc in Milwaukie, OR is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis mills and lathes. You will collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, quality, and shop leads to ensure parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to specification.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of CNC programming experience, proficiency with MasterCAM or similar CAM software, and a strong grasp of GD&T and tooling.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent required.
• 3+ years CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAM software such as MasterCAM, Fusion 360, Esprit, NX, SmartCAM.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and tooling, feeds and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment.
• Develop machining strategies to improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Verify program accuracy through simulation, prove-outs, and production validation.
• Generate and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Work with manufacturing engineers and design engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) has been incorporated.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the production floor and assist with root cause analysis activities with multiple departments.
• Support first-article inspections and production launches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
• Continuously improve the quality of manufacturing processes.
• Maintain revision control of CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies.
