Job summary

Epiroc in Milwaukie, OR is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and maintain programs for multi-axis mills and lathes, collaborating with manufacturing engineers and shop leads to ensure safe, efficient production.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in manufacturing technology and 3+ years of CNC programming experience, with proficiency in MasterCAM/Fusion 360 or similar CAM tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machining, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAM software such as MasterCAM, Fusion 360, Esprit, NX, SmartCAM, or similar platforms. Experience with MasterCAM preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding methods

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment.
• Develop machining strategies to improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Verify program accuracy through simulation, prove-outs, and production validation.
• Generate and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and process documentation
• Work with manufacturing engineers and design engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) has been incorporated
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the production floor and assist with root cause analysis activities with multiple departments
• Support first-article inspections and production launches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
• Continuously improve the quality of manufacturing processes
• Maintain revision control of CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies
