Job summary

Epiroc CNC Programmer position in Milwaukie, OR focuses on developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for multi-axis mills and lathes. You will work closely with manufacturing engineers, machinists, quality assurance, and shop leads to ensure safety, efficiency, and conformance to specifications.

The role requires 3+ years of CNC programming experience, an associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, and CAM software proficiency (MasterCAM, Fusion 360, Esprit, NX, SmartCAM, or Creo).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent required.
• 3+ years CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAM software such as MasterCAM, Fusion 360, Esprit, NX, SmartCAM, or similar; MasterCAM preferred.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining principles; familiarity with cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and workholding methods.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and other CNC equipment.
• Develop machining strategies to improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Verify program accuracy through simulation, prove-outs, and production validation.
• Generate and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) is applied.
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues on the production floor and assist with root cause analysis.
• Support first-article inspections and production launches.
• Improve processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput with Manufacturing Eng.
• Maintain revision control of CNC programs and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure safety, quality, and company standards compliance.
