Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer for a permanent role in New Jersey. The candidate will program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines and wire EDM, using CAM software, while driving process improvements and reducing cycle times in a precision metal shop.

The role requires strong GD&T and print interpretation, plus 5+ years of experience with Mastercam or equivalent CAM software. CAD design in SolidWorks or Creo is essential for fixtures and tooling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
• Hands-on setup background at the Class A machinist level.
• Proficiency with Mastercam or equivalent CAM software.
• Strong GD&T and print interpretation skills.
• Experience designing fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience programming laser/punch combination machines and sheet metal nesting software a plus.
• Additive manufacturing for fixtures, Lean or Six Sigma training and ISO 13485 or similar regulated environments a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines and wire EDM using CAM software.
• Drive process improvements to reduce cycle times and extend tool life.
• Design fixtures, electrodes, and tooling in 3D CAD.
• Identify waste in setups and workflows using Lean methods.
• Support new product introduction and first article runs.
• Prepare process sheets, tool lists, and setup documentation.
• Provide cycle time estimates for quoting and coordinate with Design, Quality, and Production.
