Job summary

Gray Manufacturing Company is seeking a machinist for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:30pm-3:00am) in Missouri. Starting pay is $27/hr with a $3.50/hr shift premium, totaling $30.50/hr.

The role involves operating lathe/mill equipment, loading programs, and setting up tools to produce inventory parts per production schedules. Responsibilities include inspecting parts, maintaining tolerances, performing secondary operations, and documenting material usage and produced parts for inventory control.

Qualifications

• One year vocational training or related experience in operation of lathe or mill equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to use basic inspection equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills and read blueprints.
• Demonstrate basic PC computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates machines on a repetitive, job lot basis to produce inventory parts as required to meet production schedules.
• Loads/unloads stock, machines parts per work orders, performs secondary operations (drilling, deburring).
• Inspects parts to maintain specifications, adjusts offsets, replaces worn tools.
• Follows preventative maintenance, troubleshoots malfunctions, notifies supervisor when repairs needed.
